Infrared bulbs

"Never-loose" base—they don't use cement adhesive. Instead, the base screws into the bulb. A weld of solder holds the base onto the threads. NOTE: If a never-loose base ever becomes loose, we will replace at no cost! 6-month non-stop life.
We prefer the pressed glass bulbs because of their tough and rugged PAR glass.

Sturdy but too cool compared to the cheaper units.

These are sturdy and well put together and the longer power cord makes this appear really good. However, if the temps outside the barn drop into the 40 s or even low 50s better have a back up plan. (some of the old cheapies around) These do not put out enough heat to keep a small flock of 50 birds warm enough even though this was just inches above the birds. Even with two of these hanging above the birds we were losing birds to the cool temps and the barn was closed up.
ProsHeavy duty plastic.
ConsNot enough heat production.

This is the best Heat Lamp that I have purchased. It's strong, sturdy and very well-made. It comes with a much longer cord, partially steel wrapped for safety. Overall, I think that this is a much safer heat lamp than the cheaply made light metal styles seen in the fall. It's well worth the price for safety and peace of mind. I have two and will probably purchase more.
